Doing ‘Whatever it Takes’ to support our clients
As the coronavirus situation continues to evolve and social distancing measures are stepped up, we want to take a moment to let you know what we at Rehab Without Walls are doing to make sure we are able to continue supporting our clients, many of whom will rely on us more now than ever.
First and foremost, our primary concern is the safety and welfare of our clients and staff and we have taken steps to ensure that we follow guidance on social distancing and are prepared to support staff, clients and support workers who need to self-isolate.
We are also extremely mindful of how important it is to look after our clients’ broader wellbeing at this time, and to continue their rehabilitation as consistently as possible. We are working together as a team and with our wonderful network of therapists, care and support staff and other service providers to find creative solutions to keep clients occupied, engaged and positive, during this difficult time, and to reduce the feeling of isolation as much as possible.
This situation puts RWW’s ‘Whatever it Takes’ motto to the test and we are up to the challenge!
Our Case Managers and Expert Witnesses
Our case management team all work remotely under normal circumstances, so they are already set up with resources and systems in place to continue to work from home.
We are using video calls and conferencing to maintain face to face contact with clients and their families, supervise support workers and carers and continue holding MDT meetings, keeping in-person meetings to an absolute minimum, whilst carefully observing social distancing guidance.
We are continually reviewing and updating risk management procedures for our clients’ support workers and carers and providing the support and supplies needed for these key workers to continue to work safely.
Our expert witnesses are also now conducting assessments by video conferencing, which, with a bit of adjustment, is proving a very effective alternative to meeting in person during this time.
We are working hard, alongside clients, their families, lawyers, support staff and other professionals to identify and provide resources, equipment and technology that will help to keep our clients safe, connected and positive through this period of isolation.
Many of the therapists we are working with are offering virtual sessions for clients where appropriate and we are encouraging and supporting them to do this, as well as thinking creatively about other activities we can help clients get involved in.
While we hope it will not be necessary, our clinical management structure and virtual filing systems mean that, should any of our team fall ill and need to take time off sick, another of our case managers will be able to step in and provide cover, as we usually would for sick leave or holiday.

Following the most recent government advice, the RWW office is now closed until further notice.
Our administration and finance teams are working from home and we have made sure that they are all set up to work remotely and keep up their fantastic work, which provides a consistent backbone to our case management and expert services.
