Ben gets back in the saddle!

Lockdown isn’t holding our client Ben back, as he prepares to take on the Maratona dles Dolomites, to raise funds for Air Ambulances UK, who, just 3 years ago, came to his rescue when he came off his bike on a training ride in the Peak District.

After 2 years of recovery and intensive rehabilitation, Ben was ready to get back on his bike again and only a few short months later, he hatched a plan with a friend to enter the 2020 Maratona – a world-famous annual road bike race, which covers seven mountain passes in the Italian Dolomites in a single day.

Having worked towards this challenge for so long, when Ben and his friends heard the race was cancelled, they came up with the plan to ride it anyway – as a virtual race on smart turbos in their own homes.

Ben’s determination and drive is truly inspiring and we know how much the cause means to him – as he says, the Air Ambulance “might just have saved my life”, so we are delighted he has found a way to go ahead with the race, through the wonders of technology.

We are very proud to support Ben in this challenge and wish him and his fellow cyclists the very best of luck!
